We were by the hot springs at Avalanche Ranch, in the shadow of Mt. Sopris, but we could have been anywhere. That’s the thing about spring—life is everywhere, all at once. Close your eyes and you feel it even; in the slow-warming stones, the clean scent of trees, the soundless breeze’s butterfly kiss… It’s a stirring, a sense that something is happening, are you are part of it, and it is part of you.
