Lee Downey Carico Lake Turquoise Filigree
This buckle features a natural-cut Carico Lake Turquoise gemstone set on a sterling silver filigree base. Carico Lake Turquoise takes its name from the ancient, dried lake South of Battle Mountain in Nevada where it is found. While blue turquoise varieties have been found in Carico Lake, it’s been made famous by the extremely rare and highly valued lime green colorations it produces, thanks to its unusual and fortuitous mineral environment. The dominant green coloration is laced with darker strains of water-webbing, both of which set off wonderfully against the sterling silver background.
