The jodhpur boot and its close cousin, the Chelsea boot was originally designed as riding boots back in the late 1800's following the introduction of the ankle length riding pant, the jodhpur. The shorter ankle boot caught on quickly. They were less expensive, easier on and off and cheaper to replace when feet grew. They were adopted by riders, grooms, and patrons of the thoroughbred racing industry and came to be associated with this elite lifestyle. By mid 1960's they were seen as a staple in any British man's wardrobe and have since been endorsed universally. The Camden, with its two piece leather construction, matching ankle elastic and lower profile is an elegant look for a modern man and fits both casual and dress applications. A suede brush is all that is needed to maintain the leather. The sizing scale includes both British and American sizes, and a U.S. size 10 is expressed as 9 1/2 / 10. The fit is the 82 last and D width with its sleek body and elegantly rounded toe. Edward Green continuous to make each pair of shoes individually with traditional hand craftsmanship at their factory in Northampton, England, as they have done since 1890. Shoetrees included.
