Marco Campomaggi made his first bags using saddle leather and metal fittings, and his equine background still informs Campomaggi’s designs. Perhaps most distinctive, however, is his unique use of cowhide leather. While others shy away from cowhide's toughness, Marco has developed a unique washing and dying process to soften the leather while retaining its robust character. The result is an irreproducible vintage bag that simply grows better all the time.
"Leather is a living, reactive material that responds to stress.
We are the ones who have to adapt to it, not the other way"
